Tour Description:
You depart from the pier enjoying a scenic 10 minutes boat ride across Placencia Lagoon enjoying the wildlife along the way. Keep an eye out for dolphins, manatees, crocodiles and the many birds. Waiting is your air-conditioned van for a 25 miles journey along the picturesque Southern Highway to Outback Trails. Upon arriving, you will have access to restroom facilities, and given a brief orientation before mounting the horses.
You don’t have to be accomplished riders, our horses are well schooled, and our attentive Tour Guides are available to put on lead ropes for novices and children. There is interesting commentary along the trail highlighting a great deal of Belize’s beauty, culture and history, which usually remains unseen.
The ride departs from Outback stables and passes through an orange grove. The trail then makes its entry into the mysterious greens of the Tropical Rain Forest. A new world surrounds you as you ride under the canopy of century old trees accompanied by the calls of exotic birds flittering amongst an incredible variety of fauna and flora.
The splendor of the Sittee River twines its way through our trail, where guests will dismount for refreshments and a swim. After treating your mount to a soothing drink, it’s time to hit the trail back to the stables. Enjoy a delicious lunch before heading back to your waiting boat.
You get it all with this picture-perfect horseback riding experience; from the magnificent view of the countryside from mountain peaks, to the birds and rainforest. Exploring nature has never been so easy.
